Crazy Plans

I can't believe the Rann Government would do such a ridiculous thing as close services for two thirds of the public, i.e. women and children, at the Modbury Hospital. If you could give birth Mr Rann and lived in this area maybe it wouldn't be happening.

Between my partner and I, we have had 5 children at the Modbury Hospital, now ranging in ages from 14 years down to 21 months. I had my first daughter in November 2002 when the new ward opened, it was lovely. A lot of money was spent on upgrading the maternity ward and I think it would be a complete waste if it was to be closed. I don't want to have to take my children into the city or to Elizabeth. I don't live in those areas nor would I want to. Like most people who live in this area they want the convenience of being able to visit their loved ones and take care of their families at home with out the unnecessary travelling time.

One of the biggest things people want during election times is for politicians to promise better hospitals, obviously Mr Rann doesn't care about our vote in the North Eastern area. I would like to personally thank Mr Rann for putting both my partner and I out of work when he renegotiated the bus contract in 2005 and now he wants to take away our hospital services.

The Modbury Hospital is an ICON and should NOT be downgraded. What's more there won't be any extra beds at the other hospitals - plain CRAZY if you ask me!
